Fraud Is a Huge Problem and Growing
Fraud and scams impact millions of people every year — wiping out retirement savings, draining college funds, hijacking business accounts, and leaving families overwhelmed and ashamed.
This damage is not only financial:
-
Sleepless nights and constant anxiety
-
Fear of phone calls, emails, and messages
-
Families scrambling to get accounts back
-
Seniors feeling embarrassed and hiding losses
-
Victims being told: “There’s nothing we can do”
Scammers Win by Controlling the Moment
Scammers don’t rely on carelessness — they rely on human behavior.
They create urgency, pressure, and confusion. They move conversations off normal channels. They use just enough real details to push people into acting before they can think clearly.
Common scams:
-
Account takeover and identity theft
-
Bank, government, delivery, or tech-support impersonation
-
Romance and relationship manipulation
-
Investment and crypto fraud
-
Business email compromise & fake invoice
-
Gift card, wire, and peer-to-peer payment scams
-
Medicare, Social Security, and senior-targeted schemes
Awareness alone isn’t enough. You need a clear playbook.

Built With Seniors, Families & Organizations in Mind
Seniors are often targeted because scammers assume they have savings, are trusting, and may be easier to isolate. Families usually don’t realize there’s a problem until money is already gone.
This program includes specific guidance for:
-
Adult children protecting parents without removing independence
-
Caregivers and trusted contacts
-
Senior-focused scripts and pressure tactics
-
Guardrails for wires, gift cards, and digital payments
-
Practical steps that reduce exposure while keeping life simple

Meet Richard Way — Fraud & Scam Fighter
I’m Richard Way, a 20+ year Fraud & Scam Fighter, educator, and advocate dedicated to helping people protect their money, independence, and peace of mind.
This work comes from seeing firsthand how scams impact real lives — not just financially, but emotionally. Victims are often left feeling embarrassed, confused, or blamed, even though scammers are highly trained manipulators who exploit urgency, fear, and trust.
My role is to expose how scams actually work and give people clear, practical tools to protect themselves before something goes wrong — and to respond quickly and effectively if it does.
I focus on:
✅ Breaking down scam tactics in plain, easy-to-understand language
✅ Teaching how to recognize pressure, urgency, and manipulation early
✅ Helping families protect loved ones without taking away independence
✅ Empowering seniors to stay informed, confident, and in control
This site exists to educate, raise awareness, and provide real-world training — not fear-based messaging, not technical jargon, and never blame.
Protection starts with understanding.
Understanding gives people back control.
